Scott Cross, Ph.D., BCBA-D
Clinical Development Manager
Dr. Scott Cross, BCBA-D, California Licensed Psychologist, received his PhD under the direction of Dr. Jon Bailey at Florida State University. Through this experience he learned more about the science and professional ethics of the field of Applied Behavior Analysis from Dr. Bailey. As a graduate student and a Florida Certified Behavior Analyst, Scott worked in schools training teachers and instructional assistants in the principles of applied behavior analysis for the betterment of students with developmental disabilities.
Dr. Cross moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to work with Dr. Ivar Lovaas, a pioneer in the field of autism treatment and research. In addition to clinical duties serving patients, Dr. Cross’ published works in 2009 and 2010 focused on participants of intensive behavioral intervention (IBI) demonstrating that comprehensive treatment results in significant and reliable changes in children’s cognitive abilities and adaptive behavior and these two outcomes are both predicted by the intensity of early intervention.
As faculty member of California State University, Northridge, Dr. Cross taught a graduate course in Applied Behavior Analysis and a course that is part of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s approved course sequence for the BCaBA certification. He has presented the clinical and research endeavors at both state and national conferences for behavior analysts and served as the Research Chair on the board of the Southern California Consortium for Behavior Analysts. Dr. Cross has helped shape the California Department of Managed Health Care Autism Advisory Task Force guidelines on ABA treatment and has worked with the California Department of Insurance and California Department of Health Care Services.
As a colleague of Dr. Marla Saltzman and Maureen Moore, Scott has observed them both to be tireless advocates for high quality treatment, professional role models, and committed to improving each and every family’s life. It is an honor to be joining the team of professionals at Autism Behavior Intervention.
Scott currently lives in the San Fernando Valley with his wife and his two children, both of whom have benefited tremendously from the science of applied behavior analysis.

The most rewarding part of this career is seeing children and families achieve gains and open doors to opportunities that were at one time thought to be impossible.
